Community Energy Resilience Center at Palomares Park
Pomona ACTS is transforming the Palomares Park Senior Center into a fully equipped Community Resilience Center—a safe, reliable neighborhood hub that supports residents during extreme weather, power outages, and other climate-related events.
Clean Energy, Backup Power, and Year-Round Benefits
This project enhances the role of Palomares Park as a vital space for the community—not just in times of crisis, but every day.
Key Upgrades Include:
Onsite Solar Panels: Clean, renewable energy will help power the center daily while reducing long-term energy costs.
Battery Storage for Backup Power: Battery systems will allow the facility to stay open and operational during power outages, providing a safe, cooled space with electricity when residents need it most.
These improvements ensure Palomares Park can serve as a trusted hub for cooling, communication, and care—especially during extreme heat or grid disruptions.
A Resilience Hub Built for and With the Community
By investing in the Palomares Park Senior Center, Pomona ACTS is strengthening local resilience while reducing emissions, promoting energy equity, and supporting neighborhood well-being.
Together, we’re building a Pomona that is safer, stronger, and ready for the future.
