Pomona Power Up
Pomona ACTS is investing in clean energy upgrades that support healthier, safer, and more resilient homes in the Pomona ACTS Project Area. By bringing solar power, battery storage, efficient appliances, and cool roofs to local households, this program helps residents save money, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and stay safe during extreme heat or power outages.
Delivering Energy Savings, Comfort, and Climate Resilience—Starting at Home
Smart Energy Upgrades for Long-Term Impact
Through this project, homes across the community will receive a combination of energy-saving and climate-adaptive improvements:
For Single-Family Homeowners
Approx. 320 kW of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems
70 battery storage systems for backup power and energy management
80 cool roofs to reduce indoor heat and energy use
45 home electrification upgrades for cleaner, safer appliances
For Renters
Alongside new infrastructure, Pomona ACTS will launch a community outreach campaign to raise awareness of:
Energy efficiency upgrades for 180 renter households, improving comfort and reducing utility costs for families who don’t own their homes
Community Outreach & Workforce Training
Led by GRID Alternatives, this effort ensures that benefits go beyond the home:
Community engagement and outreach guided by the TCC Community Engagement Plan (CEP)
Workforce development opportunities through the TCC Workforce Development Plan, providing job training and pathways to careers in clean energy
Together, we’re making homes in Pomona healthier, more comfortable, and better prepared for a changing climate.
