Complete Streets

Making Pomona Streets Greener, Safer, and Easier to Use—for Everyone.

The City of Pomona is launching a comprehensive Complete Streets project to enhance safety, accessibility, and mobility along a key city corridor. With a focus on pedestrian and bicycle improvements, this effort will create a more connected, healthy, and sustainable community.

Pomona ACTS is reimagining City Streets for People, Not Just Cars

Pedestrian Improvements

  • Up to 5,000 linear feet of sidewalk upgrades, including:

    • Replacing uplifted or damaged sections

    • Removing unnecessary driveways and replacing with new sidewalk

    • Adding sidewalk where none currently exists

    • Widening sidewalks and adding landscaped parkways for shade and buffer

  • Up to 56 ADA curb ramp upgrades for improved accessibility

Bicycle Infrastructure

  • Up to 2.8 miles of Class II bike lanes (striped on-street lanes) for safer cycling

  • Designed for riders of all ages and abilities

Streetscape Enhancements

  • Up to 7 raised, landscaped medians (approximately 1 mile total) to calm traffic and beautify the corridor

  • Enhanced lighting and intersection improvements to support safer travel at all hours

Community-Centered Design and Long-Term Maintenance

Our work is guided by the needs of who knows Pomona best—its community. The final scope and design will reflect community input gathered through outreach led by the Community Engagement Team (CET) in the first year of the project.

The City of Pomona will oversee ongoing operations and maintenance to ensure the corridor remains safe, accessible, and welcoming for years to come.
